What are some benefits of using marketing tools?

  • Use them to gain an advantage over your competitors
  • Decrease the amount of manual work you have to do – your time is valuable!
  • Learn something new – these platforms and tools typically offer other resources and articles you can learn from to grow your business

Ok, let’s cut to the chase. Here is a list of our most recommended tools, platforms, and resources.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Tools

SEMrush

The best way to optimize your website content for SEO is to create a page for every important keyword you want to rank for. The more pages you have, the more likely your website ranks.

This is where SEMrush comes in, and it’s a software that we use daily. This all-in-one digital marketing program helps you execute SEO, pay-per-click (PPC), social media, and content marketing campaigns.

SEMrush helps you identify emerging trends in your industry niche, and shows data on any keyword to help guide your website content. These insights are extremely valuable and can help you find less competitive keywords to focus on – which can boost your business to the first page of Google in no time!

Con

  • The price tag – plans start at $119/month but will run you $229/month for the Guru plan, which includes content marketing

SEO META in 1 Click

This simple FREE chrome extension will tell you all the meta-information you need to know. Simply navigate to your (or any) website in a chrome browser, open the extension and it will pull up information like:

  • Title
  • Description
  • URL
  • Headers in order of appearance (H1, H2, H3, etc)
  • Images with and without alt tags

..and the list goes on.

Did we just save you the headache of *right click* *View Page Source*?

Con

  • If you’re less experienced, it can be difficult to know which issues are major and which are minor things that have less of an impact on your website and traffic.

PageSpeed Insights

Have you ever heard that the first impression is the most important? Well, it’s true. The world of online marketing takes this a step further, because if your first impression is a slow loading webpage – it will likely be the last impression.

Website speed refers to how quickly a browser loads a fully functional web page. In this era of fast-food, fast-fashion, and fast-internet,  the world will not wait for your website to load – they will simply find another that will.

Aside from traffic being turned away from your website, Google also makes note of this subpar user experience. What’s Google’s punishment? Decreasing your search engine ranking!

PageSpeed Insights is a free tool that will check the loading time of your website – both mobile and desktop. It’s not only easy to use, but also lays out some suggestions on how to improve your speed.

Don’t let all your SEO efforts go to waste! Fix that page speed.

Pro

  • Easy to use, and the best feature.. It’s free!

Con

  • Facing the reality that your website is turtle-speed. Other than that, none!

Tracking & Analytics

Google Tag Manager

Most websites make it easy to integrate a Google Analytics code – which is what we see a lot of clients default to. But many accounts that we come across don’t have Google Tag Manager (GTM) installed – and this is why we think they’re missing out.

Think of Google Tag Manager like a filing cabinet. Here’s an example:

Let’s say you have a folder for your finances, your home utilities, and your upcoming vacation. Opposed to having 1 folder in your bedroom, 1 in your garage, and 1 in your bathroom – isn’t it ideal to have all of this information in one place?

That’s what GTM offers – having all your folders, or “tracking codes” in one place. Your Google Analytics code, Facebook pixel, Hotjar, LinkedIn pixel, nearly everything can be installed through this powerful warehouse.

Are you looking to set up custom conversions and track your visitors’ behavior across multiple platforms? GTM will do this – all by using the same tracking code

Just install the Google Tag Manager tracking code on your website, then all of your pixels, codes, and tags that are housed in GTM will be installed automatically.

Need to test your tags to ensure they’re working properly? No problem! Google Tag Manager will help you with that.

Pro

  • Less mistakes made by only having to install a single code on your website!

Con

  • If you’re really not tech savvy, a web developer may have to do this for you. Though it will likely only take five minutes of their time!

Paid Media
